Through social hours and constructive dialogue, The OSJB strives to create a safe space for all LGBTQIA+ students of all backgrounds here at Rutgers University-Camden. While continuing the practice of safe spaces and inclusivity, the OSJB desires to create a campus where students can be authentic, free of judgment and scrutiny.
About Us
The Office of Social Justice and Belonging
The Office of Social Justice and Belonging (OSJB) focuses on identity-based student support, education, and advocacy. With programming surrounding our three pillars regarding Race and Ethnicity, LGBTQIA+, and Interfaith & Religion initiatives, the OSJB focuses on educating students who will use this knowledge and experience to contribute to a more inclusive society. The Office strives to be a safe space where students are heard, supported, and advocated for to feel included on the campus. We acknowledge and understand that these pillars do not stand individually but instead intersect and reflect one’s wholeness.
The OSJB seeks to create a sacred space for all faiths within the RUC community and beyond. By working with different chaplains here on campus, as well as student-led faith-based organizations, the OSJB wishes to create a space where students are understood and feel supported on their spiritual journey.
The OSJB aims to connect with students and student-led organizations on campus who desire to uplift and bring awareness to social issues within their community. It is not only regarding making a change but creating a safe space for students of all different racial and ethnic backgrounds. The OSJB promotes engaged critical thinking, reflective listening, and meaningful action to support all students at Rutgers University-Camden
