Celebrating with Friends & Family
On a sunny October day, Scarlet Raptors of every generation came together at the Camden Athletic Complex along the Delaware River Waterfront to enjoy an afternoon of celebration at the 2024 Rutgers–Camden Friends & Family Homecoming. It was the university’s first Homecoming event since 2018.
The day began with an alumni homecoming brunch at Victor's Pub, where the crowd enjoyed catching up with university leadership, professors, and fellow alumni. The event also recognized and honored Rutgers–Camden women’s soccer for more than 25 years of athletic excellence.
The festivities then moved to the Camden Athletic Complex, in the shadow of the majestic Ben Franklin Bridge, where fans cheered on the Rutgers–Camden women’s soccer team in a match against rival Rowan University. Before the game, Chancellor Antonio D. Tillis welcomed everyone in attendance.
It’s so good to be standing here with you bringing Homecoming back to Rutgers–Camden in such a big way. I would like to encourage our alumni here today to remain involved in our beloved Camden community because your knowledge, skills, and support help to light the way for our current and future students.

Rutgers–Camden alumnus Bill Mead CCAS’79 GSC’88 performed the national anthem before the soccer game got underway. A halftime ceremony honored Jude Misko CCAS'22, a two-time Division III track and field champion in the hammer throw, who was presented with his national championship rings.
The day also included a variety of activities, including miniature golf, a pumpkin patch, family events, food, music, giveaways, and an alumni beer garden. Tours of the campus, which included visits to the archeological site set to become the home of the new $60 million Cooper Street Gateway, were also available for those interested in seeing the exciting investments being made in the future of Rutgers–Camden.
We went to Homecoming because my dad was a Scarlet Raptor and it was really cool. I liked all the things they had for kids. I can't wait to go to Rutgers-Camden because it already feels a little like home.
