Public Transportation

You can find the Rutgers University–Camden campus by rail, bus, air, and ferry. We're convenient to public transportation in South Jersey and the metro Philadelphia area.

Rail

New Jersey Transit

The NJ TRANSIT River Line light-rail system has a southbound stop (Cooper Street/Rutgers Station) on campus at Third and Cooper Streets. The northbound stop is located at Second and Cooper Streets. Student discounts are available from NJ TRANSIT.

PATCO Speedline

PATCO Speedline offers easy train access from southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. The City Hall station at Fifth and Market Streets, one block from campus, is the nearest Rutgers–Camden stop. From City Hall station, walk north toward Cooper Street.

SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority)

Catch the SEPTA Market-Frankford Line to the Eighth and Market stop, and then board the PATCO Speedline into New Jersey. Several SEPTA Regional Rail lines stop at Jefferson Station at 10th and 12th Streets, where you can connect to the PATCO Speedline at Eighth and Market Streets in Philadelphia. See PATCO directions.

Bus

NJ TRANSIT buses stop at the Walter Rand Transportation Center at Broadway and Mickle Blvd. Rutgers–Camden offers shuttle bus service to and from this transportation hub. Call the Rutgers University Police Department at 856-225-6009 to arrange rides between the Walter Rand Transportation Center and the campus.

Airplane

Philadelphia International Airport is a 15-minute car ride from Rutgers–Camden.  By public transportation, take the SEPTA Airport Line to Jefferson Station in Philadelphia. At that station, board the PATCO Speedline into New Jersey.

Ferry

The RiverLink Ferry offers seasonal service between Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia and the Camden Waterfront.
